The Divemaster course is your first level of professional training. Working closely with a Diving Instructor, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills, like perfecting the effortless hover, and refine your rescue skills so you anticipate and easily solve common problems. You’ll gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you become a role model to divers everywhere.

As a Divemaster, you’ll lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training. Whether you want to work at a faraway dive destination or close to home at a local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you.


Prerequisites for Diver Master (DM) Course

You need to be at least 18 years old and the following courses needs completion prior to enrollment.

Open Water Course
Advanced Open Water Course
First Aid Course
Rescue Diver Cours
You need to have at least 40 Logged dives and will require up to 60 Dives to complete your certification.
A Medical statement signed by a physician within the past 12 months.


Our Dive Master course expands to a total of of 18 days and the following are what you will look forward to

ORIENTATION – Your time is spent assisting an Instructor during the theory and pool sessions of a Open Water Course. These sessions will serve as a re-introduction to the theory and skills of the Open Water Course for those candidates who have been away from a dive teaching environment for a long time.

Candidates are asked to observe all videos, attend all lectures and complete all Open Water Course quizzes and exams. During the practical sessions, you should observe your instructor with regard to their control, positioning, skill demonstration and problem-solving. These sessions are non-assessable.

ASSIST WITH RESCUE COURSE – Assist with the Rescue Course pool session if the course is running. If no Rescue Course is running, this day should be spent as a study day or on more practice with the second day Open Water students

CLASSROOM WORK : Reactivate program, Discover Scuba Diving in confined water, Pool session review/evaluation, Evaluated pool session with Open Water Course, Pool session review/evaluation

BOAT DAYS – Where you will go through

  • Evaluated training dive with Open Water students (open water training dive 1). Rescue evaluation.
  • Evaluated training dive with Open Water students (open water training dive 2)
  • Evaluated training dive with ADVANCED COURSE NAVIGATION DIVE
  • Non-evaluated training dive with ADVANCED COURSE NIGHT DIVE
  • Evaluated training dive with Open Water students (open water training dive 3)
  • Evaluated training dive with Open Water students (open water training dive 4)
  • Discover Scuba Diving Program – additional open water dive 
  • Non-evaluated training dive with newly certified divers.
  • Skill 5 Deep dive scenario
  • Free dive (make up dive if necessary)
  • Skill 1 – Dive site set up and management, deck duties/surface supervision. DMT (under supervision) should be helping with back deck duties (ie logging divers in/out, filling tanks and other general duties that happen on this last dive to prepare the boat for departure from the dive spot).

REVIEW/EXAMS Towards the end you will be subjected to Study/Review and Exams which is a combination both Practical and Theory

FINAL 3 DAYS : Your final three days would be spent on the Boat and you will be evaluated again on both teaching and non-teaching Divemaster duties to complete your course requirements.

Upon completion of your DM Course, as a Certified Dive Master you can:

Supervise both training and non-training-related activities by planning, organizing and directing dives
• Accompany Scuba Divers subsequent dives
• Accompany student divers during the Adventures In diving dives or specialty courses
• Conduct subsequent Discover Scuba Diving dives
• Assist Instructors during the training sessions for any Diver course
• Conduct Discover/Try Dives program
• Conduct the Discover Local Diving experience
• Conduct the Scuba Review program

You can also complete a short qualification and become a Discover/Try Dive Scuba Diving Leader which will allow you to independently conduct the Discover/Try Dive Scuba Diving program.
